Bringing together over 40 sector leaders to discuss, debate and inspire, the Summit is a brilliant opportunity to explore new ideas of care and housing provision.
Many of the topics, such as Delivering homes and communities fit for the future, faster (Mon 6 Dec, 10am) and Intergenerational housing – building blocks for all ages (Weds 8 Dec, 10am), reflect our thinking. We are also interested in the sessions on Reimagining retirement living – a new look at older people’s housing? (Tues 7 Dec, 10am) and Healthier homes and communities for healthier living (Fri 10 Dec, 3pm).
Technology is a key focus for us, and following the recent launch of the TAPPI Inquiry report, we’re very much looking forward to attending the Getting switched on to technology: the big insights session; chaired by Susan Kay, CEO, Dunhill Medical Trust, and with panellists including Vic Rayner, CEO, National Care Forum, Steve Rawson, COO, Beyond Housing and Alyson Scurfield, CEO, TSA (TEC Association), this session will examine how new smart homes and care technologies can drive better integrated solutions to support healthy living and ageing well.
We believe people’s choices of lifestyle must be respected, and they need to be given living housing options to reflect their needs. Drawing on latest research and policy, the session on Housing in later life – improving choice by building a better offer (Thurs 9 Dec, 3pm) will explore examples of innovative practice to create aspirational places to attract people to ‘rightsize’.
As this Festival of Ideas clearly demonstrates, it is very exciting times for the housing with care sector. We will be looking closely to see where standards need to be reviewed, and what potentially new standards need to be introduced to ensure services and housing for seniors not only are at a high quality, but are people and customer-centric.
Maintaining high quality standards are more than a tick from regulatory bodies; standards are crucial to helping organisations be innovative, reduce costs, and maintain respect and competitiveness in the marketplace.
We are very much looking forward to attending a number of the Housing LIN Festival of ideas sessions. Check our Twitter feed, @StandardsWise, 6-10 December 2021 for regular updates from the Festival.
